Ismaila Maihanci, House of Representatives member-elect for Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency in Taraba State, is dead. He died at the age of 36.

His demise was disclosed by a presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, on Twitter on Saturday, April 22, 2023.

Posting via his handle, Bashir wrote,

”Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un! Just received a sad news about the passing of our brother, Hon. Ismail Maihanci, a member-elect of Jalingo, Yorro and Zing, Federal Constituency in Taraba State. May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannah al-Firdaus.

He was buried on Saturday according to Islamic rites.

Maihanci served as a Special Adviser to Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku before to his election. He was also the Taraba State Secretary of the PDP.
