Portuguese football star, Cristiano Ronaldo Cristiano Ronaldo has officially ended his playing with English football giants, Manchester United.
This comes after a bombshell interview with Piers Morgan dominated news headlines in the weeks leading up to the World-Cup
The 37-year-old who is unarguably one of the greatest footballer ever saw his relationship with the board at Manchester United turn sour after he seemingly called out the poor way the club was being managed.
Ronaldo was also consistently agitated that his role had been reduced to the bench and he took it out on manager Erik Ten Hag whom he felt disrespected him by leaving him on the bench.
According to the club statement, the five-time Ballon D’or winner will leave the club by mutual agreement.
The statement reads in parts :
“Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.
The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford.”
