Asake, has been a revelation in the Nigerian music industry in 2022.
Since he released his first hit single, Omo Ope , he has gone on to having one of the best year for a new artiste and at some point drawing comparisons to Wizkid.
One thing that has been consistent with his music is the beat and most of his songs sounds Amapianoish (if there’s any word like that) and that has made him stand out.
Before dropping his album, most of his singles were almost identical. One need to listen attentively to be able to know which of his song it is. That alone brought criticism and at some point fans were complaining, asking him to change his beat.
Amapiano, mostly know as a south African style of music has been around for for sometimes now, but only really began to gain traction in 2020 with the release of hit singles such as Hellelu by Masterkraft, High by Adekunle Gold, Holy father by Victony and a lot others.
