Rema Surpasses 1 Billion Streams Across Lead Credits On Spotify

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, Rema has become the newest Nigerian artist to hit the 1 billion streams record as lead artiste on Spotify Africa.

Mavin Records starboy, Rema has enjoyed a stellar 2022 after the release of his debut album ‘Raves & Roses’, and the highly successful single, ‘Calm Down’.

Calm Down’ is one of the top Afrobeats single of 2022 enjoying both domestic and international success, including a ground-breaking remix with American star, Selena Gomez. The single has surpassed over 300 million views on YouTube in 10 months, making it the fastest song to achieve this feat.

Meanwhile, the star’s hit single also surpassed over a billion streams across all platforms. On the charts, the song entered the top 10 of the UK Official Singles Chart and also peaked at the NO. 77 spot on Billboard Hot 100 in a run that extended for over 19 weeks.

In  addition to surpassing 1 billion streams on Spotify across lead credits, Rema joins an exclusive league of Afrobeats artists such as the likes of CKayBurna Boy, and Wizkid who have also achieved this milestone.
