Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah doesn’t just have a good left foot, he’s got a good heart too.
The Egypt international proved this much with his donation of $3million to the National Cancer Institute in Cairo after a suspected terrorist incident killed 20 people.
Another 47 people were injured during the explosion in the Egyptian capital on Sunday evening, when a car drove at high speed in the wrong direction and crashed into three others outside the hospital.

In the immediate aftermath of the incident, Liverpool star Salah posted a message on Twitter that said: “My full support and condolences to the families of victims and victims of the explosion of the Oncology Institute.
Salah didn’t stop with only the condolence message, reports in Egypt have stated that he has made a considerable donation to help rebuild the institute, which was damaged in the explosion.

As reported by Egyptian news outlet Youm7, Cairo University President Dr. Mohamed Osman Elkhosht, speaking in an interview with dmc, has claimed Salah has donated $3m (roughly £2.5m) to help rebuild the institute – roughly half of the expected cost.
The incident was initially thought to have been an accident, but Egypt President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s message of condolence to the victim has hinted otherwise.

“I extend my deepest condolences to the Egyptian people and the families of the martyrs killed in the cowardly terrorist incident in the vicinity of the Kasr al-Aini area yesterday evening,” he said on Monday.

Salah, one of several high profile figures to have made a donation, has made various donations to causes and campaigns in the past in his homeland.
