Hika – Rehikanation EP

Nigerian-born singer and songwriter, Patience Ehika, known professionally as Hika, is making waves in the music industry with her new debut EP, “Rehikanation”.
This young, fresh talent started singing at a tender age and is now making her mark in the Nigerian music scene. Hika graduated from the University of Lagos with a degree in philosophy and has a diverse musical style that encompasses pop, reggae, soul, and Afro-pop.
The six-track EP, “Rehikanation”, showcases Hika’s versatility and includes intro tracks “Hika”, “Mata”, “Let Me Know”, “Ijo ft Master Yen”, “Ajasco”, and “Hosanna”. Each track has its own unique sound and vibe, including love, happiness, dance, and introspection. Hika describes the EP as a renovation of the old-school sound, reincarnated with a fresh twist.
The first track, “Hika”, is a positive and confident introduction to the young artist. The second track, “Mata”, expresses gratitude for hard work paying off. “Let Me Know” is a painful discussion about a cheating boyfriend. “Ijo” is a happy dance track, while “Ajasco” is a groovy advice track to work hard but still make time for yourself. The final track, “Hosanna”, is all about rejoicing and giving thanks to God.

Hika draws inspiration from the likes of Adele, Camila Cabello, and the late Lucky Dube but remains unique in her own sound. The young recording artist is determined to put Africa on the map with her feel-good Afropop and R&B records. “My kind of song is always one where the vocals are delivered to perfection while the simplicity of the melody will make you want to sing along,” says Hika.
“Rehikanation” is available now on all major streaming platforms. Stay tuned for more from this talented new act.
