Exactly one week after they were kidnapped at Akere Village in Ifewara, Osun state, three Chinese expatriates were on Monday released by their abductors.
The expatriates were reportedly kidnapped at a mining site after a disagreement with their labourers around 6:00 pm last week Monday.
The labourers were said to have contacted families of the victims and demanded a sum of N500 million.
Although it was not immediately clear how the expatriates regained freedom on Monday.
But Yemisi Opalola, the police spokesperson for Osun Command in a text message to our correspondent said the victims had been rescued.
She said, “We have rescued the three Chinese expatriates abducted in Ifewara.”
